Michael Mignano

Michael Mignano is a Senior Research Analyst for the Strategic Research and Campaigns Department at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Michael’s work is extensively focused on waste worker health and safety and new organizing and contract bargaining campaigns. Michael collaborates with the union’s environmental and economic justice allies to develop joint research and campaigns to promote and defend workers’ rights. His previous experience has included work with the BlueGreen Alliance, a coalition of labor unions and environmental groups, as well as other justice-oriented groups and organizations.

Michael practices sustainable waste management at home with his backyard chickens and multiple compost piles.

A world free of waste, where materials are continually utilized for their full benefit without causing human health problems, environmental degradation or requiring excessive economic investment.
